IN-HOUSE ACCOUNTANT/BOOKKEEPER

Narrative PR is seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Accountant/Bookkeeper. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in accounting and finance, with the ability to manage all aspects of the bookkeeping process, including financial statement preparation, month and year-end close procedures, and journal entries. In addition, this position requires proficiency in accounts receivable, accounts payable, payroll processing and reporting. This role will work with the Director of Operations and report to the Partners.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Accounts Receivable & Payable: Oversee the accounts receivable and accounts payable functions, including invoicing, collections, and payment processing.
Journal Entries & G/L Management: Prepare, post, and review journal entries to the general ledger, ensuring all financial data is accurate and up to date.
Bank & Credit Card Reconciliation: Perform bank and credit card reconciliations to catch discrepancies and ensure accurate cash flow reporting.
Month/Quarterly/Year-End Close: Manage and execute month-end, quarter-end, and year-end closing processes, ensuring timely and accurate reporting.
Compliance & Financial Statements: Prepare accurate financial statements in compliance and ensure compliance with relevant financial regulations and standards (GAAP).
Payroll Processing & Tax Preparation: Process bi-weekly and semi-monthly payrolls, as well as calculating employee commissions, ensuring compliance with tax regulations and timely payment to employees.
In addition to the above, work with our benefits providers to ensure accurate enrollments, deductions, and necessary compliance.
401(k) Plan Administration: Coordinating with plan providers and ensuring timely remittance of contributions, distributions, and compliance reporting.
REQUIREMENTS
Education: Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or a related field preferred or equivalent work experience. CPA certification is preferred but not required.
Experience: Minimum 3+ years of full charge bookkeeping/accounting experience. Experience with Quickbooks preferred but not required.
Knowledge: Strong understanding of accounting principles and financial reporting standards.
Detail-Oriented: Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
Communication: Strong verbal and written communication skills.
Organizational Skills: Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
All candidates must live in the Los Angeles area and be able to work from our LA office on a regular basis.
SALARY/BENEFITS
$80,000 - $100,000/year
